Wheeling Heritage Welcomes Ellery McGregor as Director of Programming
WHEELING, W.Va. – August 6, 2026 – Wheeling Heritage is excited to welcome Ellery McGregor as its new Director of Programming. McGregor will oversee many of the organization’s signature programs and events, including Show of Hands, Partnership Grants, Handmade Holiday, FidoFest, Volunteer Wheeling, gallery exhibitions, and Weelunk, an online storytelling magazine.
McGregor holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from California State University, Long Beach and earned her Master of Business Administration from the University of Edinburgh Business School in Edinburgh, Scotland. Prior to pursuing her MBA, she was the Head of Marketing at the Ohio County Public Library and a freelance writer for Weelunk. Most recently, she served as Membership and Community Manager for the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce. McGregor brings a strong background in creative content development, community engagement, and project management to her new role.

Originally from California, McGregor ventured east and has called Wheeling home since mid 2021. She resides in downtown Wheeling and is currently restoring a historic home in Center Wheeling. She is also an active member of the community, serving as a board member and Pride Coordinator for The Friendlier City Project.
As Director of Programming, McGregor will lead Wheeling Heritage’s community programming and events, helping to advance the organization’s mission of preserving, promoting, and revitalizing Wheeling through initiatives that celebrate local culture, support small businesses, and strengthen community connections.
