Paint Your Pet

Paint Your Pet

It used to be Paint Your Pup…but now it’s Paint Your Pet!
All of you cat, rooster, and horse lovers—this is your moment. Whether your best friend is furry, feathered, or scaly, we can help you turn them into a work of art.

Participants can choose from a morning session (10am-1pm) or an afternoon session (2pm-5pm), both held at the Wheeling Artisan Center.

How It Works

Upon signing up, you’ll submit a photo of your pet, which will be replicated onto a 16×20 canvas. An artist will guide you through the process of painting your pet’s portrait, with no prior painting experience required.

All materials will be provided, and each session is limited to 30 participants. This workshop promises a fun outing with family and friends—making it a perfect gift for any animal lover.

Reserve Your Spot!

Date: Saturday, January 10, 2026

Location: Wheeling Artisan Center, 1400 Main Street

Cost: $75 per portrait

All sessions are sold out!

About Those Banners

Thanks to all of the participants in the previous Paint Your Pet sessions, the Fitzsimmons Family Dog Parks are now all decorated with banners featuring painted pups. So while we aren’t planning another big banner reveal for this year’s Paint Your Pet, we would still like to photograph your finished canvas at the end of your session to have new art to choose from as banners need replaced in the future, or if a new location is identified.

Make a Day of It

River City Restaurant (inside the Artisan Center) opens at 11am, so you can grab lunch after your morning session or fuel up before the afternoon one.

The Artisan Shop and Prodigal Daughter boutique also open at 12pm, perfect for browsing local art, gifts, and unique finds while you’re here.

Save the Date

FidoFest will be on Saturday, May 16th, 2026 at Garden Park in Warwood (10am-3pm).

Create a Painting From a Photo of Your Choice

The photo you choose should feature your pet prominently and be in portrait orientation (more tall than wide). Only one pet should be featured in your photo. If you have any questions, reach out to us at info@wheelingheritage.org.
