About the Project
With the streetscape project nearing completion and the 40th Annual Wheeling Christmas Parade returning to its traditional route, the City of Lights committee was formed to create new ways to celebrate the season and invite people downtown for the holidays.
In 2025, the celebrations were made brighter with new LED snowflake lights added to Main and Market Streets, dine-in igloos on the WesBanco Arena patio, and a live Christmas tree on the plaza to enjoy throughout the season.
Looking Forward
With your continued support, we can amplify the City of Lights celebration—inviting both residents and visitors to explore downtown Wheeling’s locally owned shops and restaurants. Donations will go towards future initiatives by the City of Lights committee, and help with the upkeep of previous additions, like the LED snowflake lights.
This community effort is powered by a partnership between the City of Wheeling, Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce, Regional Economic Development Partnership (RED), Wheeling-Ohio County CVB, Wheeling Heritage, West Liberty University’s Department of Media and Liberal Arts, and the Parade Committee.
