Volunteer Wheeling to Reveal Adirondack Chairs
WHEELING, W.Va. – July 11, 2022 – Volunteer Wheeling is set to reveal their latest project, painted Adirondack chairs, at the City of Wheeling’s Waterfront Wednesday concert on July 13. Volunteer Wheeling members spent their time building and painting 12 chairs to be placed at local parks and pools around Wheeling.
Volunteer Wheeling is an inclusive group that is open to anyone interested in lending a hand to better our community. This group was organized through Wheeling Heritage and the City of Wheeling to take on small-scale beautification projects in the Downtown Wheeling and the surrounding neighborhoods.
“We are very excited to share our project in community places around Wheeling.” Ellen Gano, Volunteer Wheeling Organizer said. “Our members worked hard on building and painting these chairs and it will be great to see our work showcased throughout the city.”
The community is invited to check out the results of Volunteer Wheeling’s Adirondack chair project at Waterfront Wednesday, a free, live concert located at Wheeling Heritage Port. The chairs will be revealed at 6 p.m. with the concert starting at 7 p.m. In case of inclement weather, this event may be moved inside WesBanco Arena. Waterfront Wednesday will present the Adirondack chairs, along with featuring live music by The Outliers.
Volunteer Wheeling is working on other beautification projects around the city, including decorating empty storefronts downtown, curb painting, and litter clean up.
