Writing Home for the Holidays Gallery
WHEELING, W.Va. – October 15, 2025 –Wheeling Heritage is calling on residents, visitors, and those who have once called Wheeling home to participate in a new interactive community gallery: Writing Home for the Holidays.
The exhibit will be on display in the Wheeling Artisan Center Atrium, 1400 Main Street, from Nov. 14, 2025, through Jan. 5, 2026, featuring heartfelt holiday cards that fill the space with memories, messages, and wishes from the community.
Participants are invited to send or drop off greeting cards with handwritten notes. Cards can include cherished holiday memories in Wheeling, winter wishes for the city’s future, or simply messages of love and warmth. Submitted cards will be displayed throughout the atrium, creating a visually immersive, nostalgic space filled with the spirit of the season.
“This project captures the sentimental heart of Wheeling,” said Riley Carpenter, Wheeling Heritage’s director of programming. “It’s about sharing memories that remind us what it means to call this city home, especially during the holidays.”
All holiday celebrations are welcome, including Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas, New Year’s, or any winter greeting.
Card submissions will be accepted from Oct. 15 through Nov. 10 and may be mailed or dropped off at:

1400 Main Street

All participants who mail or drop off a card will be entered into a giveaway for a Fuzzy Whale Paper Company gifting set or a holiday card pack from Card Art by Jes.
