The Pine Room Podcast Wins Show of Hands
WHEELING, W.Va. – Sept. 29, 2022 – After four local business pitches, The Pine Room Podcast secured the most votes, winning Wheeling’s Show of Hands. The newly developed business took home more than $6,500 for their top-tier entertainment. With this Show of Hands, Wheeling Heritage surpasses the $100,000 mark of giving to small businesses and projects with this program.
Show of Hands is a community-supported crowdfunded event hosted by Wheeling Heritage. This round of Show of Hands included in-person presentations and voting, while incorporating live streaming and voting for those who were not able to make it to the Artisan Center. Each presenter had a one-minute video, produced by the Wheeling Heritage media team, that played before they gave their four-minute pitch.
In their pitch, Brian Campbell and Jub Delbrugge introduced their production company which includes producing two podcasts per week, along with hosting live high school and regional sports show on local radio. With the proceeds from Show of Hands, The Pine Room Podcast plans to purchase production equipment to put on higher-quality live shows. Overall, their goal is to have the ability to provide internships and full-time opportunities for the surrounding high schools and universities.
“We had the opportunity to be apart of something so special. We wanted to give a huge thank you to Wheeling Heritage and all of the sponsors who were involved. The nine of us have worked countless hours over the last year to get this small production company off the ground,” said Brian Campbell of The Pine Room Podcast. “With all of our family, friends and the support of this community, we truly believe we can give back in a huge way. It’s going to be exciting to see what we come up with over the rest of this year and leading into 2023. We have a ton of ideas and we can’t wait to make this city and the state of West Virginia proud.”
