Old House Seminar Bringing Knowledge to Realtors and Wheeling’s Homeowners
WHEELING, W.Va. – May 2, 2023 – Wheeling Heritage and Friends of Wheeling are proud to announce the Old House Seminar on May 25 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Wheeling Artisan Center, 1400 Main Street. The seminar will provide valuable insights and practical advice for those interested in purchasing, renovating, or maintaining old, historic homes and those who sell these homes.
During this two-hour seminar, attendees will have the opportunity to learn from experts in the field and network with other homeowners. This is a must-attend event for anyone interested in preserving and enhancing the beauty and character of Wheeling’s old homes.
Topics covered will include:
- • Is this property on the National Register of Historic Places?
- • Is this property in a Wheeling Design Review District?
- • How can I find out about the history of the house?
- • What grant opportunities and tax incentives are available?
- • Is this property in tax arrears?
“Wheeling has a plethora of old homes that hold a lot of history and there is a lot of information and incentives locally and nationally that can be utilized,” said Betsy Sweeny, Director of Heritage Programming at Wheeling Heritage. “When it comes to learning and maintaining, we want to provide everyone involved the knowledge to help keep these houses around for one hundred more years.”
