General description:

Wheeling Heritage invites you to its “Power of Partnerships Panel” on Thursday, June 13, at noon at the Wheeling Artisan Center. This panel will delve into the workings of public-private partnerships and how they can create powerful synergies that have proven transformative in revitalizing Wheeling.

Panelists include:

  • Scott Schenerlein, Executive Director of Wheeling Heritage
  • Josh Jefferson, CEO and President of the Regional Economic Development Partnership
  • Frank O’Brien, Executive Director of the Wheeling Convention and Visitors Bureau
  • Kurt Zende, President of the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce
  • Robert Herron, Wheeling City Manager
  • Natalie Hamilton, Belomar, Community Development/Grants Administrator

The panel will be moderated by Hydie Friend, former executive director of Wheeling Heritage. In 2002, Hydie became executive director of the Wheeling National Heritage Area Corporation, serving in that role until 2011. During her tenure, Hydie guided early planning and implemented initiatives that led to the City of Wheeling’s official designation as a National Heritage Area by the United States Congress. Hydie was also instrumental in working with partners to construct Wheeling Heritage Port and save the historic Capitol Theatre.

This event is free to attend; RSVPs are encouraged but not required. A pre-ordered boxed lunch will be offered for $13. Those wishing to order a boxed lunch can do so online by June 12 at 5:00pm.
