Ceramics Take Over Wheeling: Locally Centered Exhibition Opens Feb. 22

WHEELING, W.Va. – February 19, 2025–Ceramics Take Over Wheeling returns for its third year, bringing four days and three nights of ceramic art events to the city from Feb. 20–23, 2025. As part of this citywide celebration, Wheeling Heritage will host “Ceramics Take Over Wheeling: Locally Centered” at the Wheeling Artisan Center, one of nine gallery exhibitions showcasing the best in contemporary and traditional ceramics.

Whether you’re looking to add a new piece to your collection or just starting your own, this is the perfect chance to take home something truly special. Join us this Saturday at the Wheeling Artisan Center for an unforgettable evening of art, community, and celebration – it’s an event you won’t want to miss!” shares Riley, director of programming at Wheeling Heritage.

The opening reception for locally centered artisans will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Wheeling Artisan Center (1400 Main St., Wheeling, W.Va.). The exhibition will remain on display through March 23 and can be viewed Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Many pieces will be available for purchase.

Ceramics Take Over Wheeling 2025 will feature a variety of exhibitions, artist talks, and live demonstrations throughout the city. Key events include:

• Exhibition Openings: Nine galleries and venues across Wheeling featuring a diverse range of ceramic art.
• Demos & Artist Talks: Daily events at Oglebay Park’s Wilson Lodge, offering insight into the creative process.
• Pottery Throw Down: A high-energy competition where featured artists take on pottery challenges in real-time.
