Savannah Schroll Guz is a mixed-media artist born in York, PA & based in Weirton, WV. Savannah’s work is in private collections from NYC to San Diego and has been shown in Asheville (NC), Cleveland, Harrisburg (PA), Hudson (NY), Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Rochester, St. Louis, New York City, Weirton, Wheeling, and York (PA).

After a brief look at the 1920s collages of pioneering Dada artist Hannah Höch (German) and work by the contemporary collage artists Julie Liger-Belair (Canadian), Julie Speed (American), and Margarita Brum (South American), we’ll dive into creating our own small-scale collages using everyday magazines, vintage sheet music, pre-made cyanotypes, and other paper ephemera. Paper, scissors, markers, and adhesives will also be provided. And for those who would like to try embroidering paper, embroidery needles and colorful thread will also be available. Participants are more than welcome to bring magazines, old calendars, fliers, or other materials they would like to use in their creative processes.
