With Valentine's Day just around the corner, we need your help to show some love for Wheeling’s historic buildings.
Each year, old building enthusiasts from across the country partake in “heart bombing,” which entails cutting out tons of hearts and using them to decorate vacant or important buildings throughout the city. This act shows that our community cares about these spaces and wants to see them preserved and used for years to come.
On Thursday. Feb. 9, Volunteer Wheeling invites you to a craft night where we will cut and decorate hearts that will be placed on The Blue Church.
Craft supplies will be provided. Please bring your own scissors. Feel free to bring extra markers, construction or craft paper, glitter, stickers, and any other supplies you'd like to contribute.
This event will be held in the Wheeling Heritage conference room, located on the second floor of the Wheeling Artisan Center, 1400 Main Street, Wheeling.
Light refreshments will be provided. If you are unable to attend this event, but would still like to participate, you can drop off decorated hearts at the Wheeling Heritage office during regular business hours.
A second volunteer day will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11, when we will decorate The Blue Church. Check the Volunteer Wheeling page to learn more about how you can get involved.
